( 2 ) KELATTE : JALAE ~ JALAE CARGHI MAKAE

From Jalan Bayam, look for Lorong Chicha
From that red car (junction) over there, you'll reach this point
..where you'll see this house with a small lane beside it..
..see that car over there, take few steps to that point...
..this red signboard will greet you first (not the ladies lah)..
..there will be a door and do enter the house..
..this is Kak Nah and her famous Ayam Perchik..
..and she only made them to order and they are limited..
..in case if you need her contact no., it's on her door..


This is the sequence for the first "episode" of "JALAE ~ JALAE CARGHI MAKAE" series.

In my last entry, I promised the visitors to this fotopage that I will introduce you to my favorite Ayam Perchik, perhaps the best in Kota Bharu and definitely much better than the usually heard "Yati's Ayam Perchik". Hey, at least that is my opinion.... and many others' too.. ho ho

So, here we are, Kak Nah's Ayam Perchik.
Kak Nah, as she is known by many, used to sell her Ayam Perchik ( and other type of perchiks as well ) at Pasar Berek 12, Jalan Hospital, in Kota Bharu.
One day, some of her customers, tired of coming to her stall just to see Kak Nah packing up empty trays earlier than other perchik sellers would do, decided to come and wait at her house instead, for the first grab.
Finally, with customers flowing to her house before she could even bring her Ayam Perchik to the market, Kak Nah gave up and started to sell her cookings from the house instead.
Obvious enough, she does have many regular customers and to add to that, new customers are showing up day by day.
However,
for Kak Nah is a small entrepreneur, to cope with the onslaught, Kak Nah decided that she will only take orders from her customer and those who came for her Ayam Perchik without earlier bookings will not be entertained, as she put it.

So what about her Ayam Perchik then ?
Succulent, juicy, tender.... you name it, any word that suits an almost perfect Ayam Perchik ( and Ikan Perchik as well ). Her perchik gravy is good too...
Boleh laahh berbanding ayam perchik tempat lain ( kalau orang tak pandai buat, biasanya ayam tuh akan jadi keras or kuah dia rasa hambar.. emm.. tak macam ayam perchik Kak Nah, bermaksud, dia pandai laa jugak ). Okeh, barang siapa yang rasa tercabar, dijemput hubungi Kak Nah untuk mencuba.. ho ho

in the late 70's and up to early 80's the junction of Jln Bayam and Lorong Chicha was famous of its 'Kuih Jepun'. the small production shed, with its corrugated roof, right at that very corner was then co-run by P Ramlee (yes, his name is P Ramlee). Thu 3-Nov-2005 08:44

Ha ah laa Tok, I could still clearly remember the "kuih Jepun" stall with the sign "kuih Jepun" hanging by the roadside of Jalan Bayam. But have no idea about the guy with the "P Ramlee" name. Speaking of kuih Jepun, I was wondering why it was called that way until I went to Japan and finally realised that it indeed has striking resemblence with the famous Japanese "dorayaki" ( yg Doraemon suka makan tu laa ). A really nice and informative web.Tahniah pada Ayoh Ray kerana web yang bayak memberi ilmu dan pengetahuan bukan sahaja kepada Kelantanese bahkan sesiapa sahaja. Kawe sendiri pernah duduk di Jepun 3 tahun.
Untuk makluman kelmarin kawe ada ambik artikel demo pasal YAB TOK GURU NK AZIZ (interview dalam akhbar Jepun) dan masuke dalam PERAKAN:NET dengan member credit pado demo.SKawe berpendapat ianya untuk makluman semua dan perlu ditonjolkan.

Thanks. That time was middle 90s and I'm one of the Mobusho scholar under JPA. Saya belajar dekat Tokyo University.Loni kecek Jepun tok berapo bulih doh, sikit2 buli even anok2 pun bulih lagi. Tapi banyok kenange manis dan seronok dok sana banding nge pat kawe loni di Europe. Mengenai pembetulan link, banyok gu-gu dale Perakan net tahu doh loni web demo melalui email personal dio atar ko kawe. Sudah menjadi adat kawe dan itulah cara terbaik hasil ore jange kita ngaku kito buat, so sebab tu kawe v kredit ko demo. Kawe pun ado fotopage doh tapi tok siak lagi lamo doh dok wat maso takdok.Mula2 dengan Webshot dan mace2 lagi, tumggu la kalu ado maso kawe persiape ke, kalu demo nok v idea dan pandange sila lawati fotopages Dhom's Fotopages.Ado sebab kawe bukak fotopages tu kalu demo baco demo tahu la tapi separuh baru.

Hi Ray! My auntie ada bwk balik a few packets of frozen ayam percik and it is labeled as "Yati Ayam Percik". Not sure whether it is the same Yati Ayam Percik.. yg kat Jalan Long Yunus. coz yg nih jual kat Kg. Cherang.

The frozen ayam percik is nicely packed, very convenient for those yg nak simpan stok2 ayam percik.. especially yg tinggal jauh dr Kelantan. Just by reheating the chicken in the microwave.. it taste 10 times better than fresh ayam percik. Yum Yum!

Could you do a review on this? Here's the address..

Personally, Yati Ayam Percik can be considered as a second option to oghe solek, and certain group of people. Not many KB folks will go for Yati Ayae Percik as it is for mass market. Tanyo oghe Kubang Pasu Fri 24-Nov-2006 11:00

I like ayam, ikan, perut ayam dan lemak percik. When I eat nasi kerabu (yum yum!!), I prefer to have it with perut ayam percik. I love nasi kerabu hitam. Nasi khabu puteh pun brehi jugok, asa samba tumih sedak, sedak la nasik tu. Ambo, kalu make nasik khabu ite, mesti mitok telor masin, bawe jeruk, khepok, solok lado. Kalu ado daging baka, molek jugok! Lo ni meme lamo doh tok make nasik khabu, nati balik Klate buleh la jamung! Lo ni dok wak wish list bendo hok nok make sangak-sangak kalu balik Malaysia.
