If you watch Stephen Chow's famous action-packed movie - Kung Fu Hustle, you will come to a scene when a couple of middle-aged, "retired" kung fu masters confronts a pair of paid assassins. The assassins, two blind men, with their kung fu skills, manipulate a Chinese string instrument, to unleash deadly knives like soundwave to whoever they intend to.
I have no idea what they called the instrument in Chinese. But Japan, a country which received Chinese influences for hundreds if not thousands of years, has very similar musical instrument like used in the movie, which they called Koto.
