Pantai Sabak @ Sabak Beach in Kota Bharu, or locally known as Pantai Kuala Pak Amat.

A historical battleground between the British and Japanese forces on 8th December 1941, just an hour before the famous Pearl Harbour Attack took place.
The Japanese landed at midnight, greeted by landmines and heavy fire from British Indian troops guarding the shoreline.
Long story made short,
the Japanese then started the Malayan Campaign with the success of defeating British troops on this sandy terrain.

At present,
the actual battle site had gone into the sea due to fierce sudden erosion which started few years back.
British built pillboxes ( concrete-built shooting hideout ) used to line up this shore before the waves pulled them one by one. When I was a kid, I saw one of those last structures disappearing into the sea (and that was like 13 years ago).
Now, lined with rocks by the government to slow down the erosion, no one knows for sure the future of this onced famous beach...
