..a road beside Pasar Siti Khadijah..
..can u see any male trader?..
..btw, 95% of all traders are women!..
.. the day is Friday, restday ie non-working day for Kelantan, so I went out looking for some breakfast (as usual, the "nasi berlauk" ). This week, to Pasar Kubang Pasu near the centre of Kota Bharu town.. By observations, Kota Bharu is traditional, with lots of old houses, family-owned businesses, lands and buildings.. Unlike Lembah Klang or Kuantan which has lots of empty, spacious piece of land for major projects, Kota Bharu is somehow like Japan in a way(or some say, like Penang?), where many people squeezed into a relatively small town, leaving a limited space for "breathing".. Shophouses, supermarkets and wet markets are so close to each other that walking around is much preferred than by car and the streets are narrow and small too, slipping through commercial buildings and houses..Well alive with unique personalities, traditions and activities which I failed to find in other parts of Malaysia, Kota Bharu really makes me proud... but when it comes to "garbage management" and personal hygiene, I still believe that the people of Kelantan really need serious education... but don't get me wrong, this problem is a national problem and not only in Kelantan plus Kota Bharu is not the dirtiest in Malaysia, at least for the time being ! At Pasar Kubang Pasu, I bought some "nasi berlauk"s and kuih (traditional cakes) and later, instead of heading straight home like always, wondering how Friday looks like in this East Coast town, I decided to take a stroll, straight into the heart of Kota Bharu...
