Morning in Kelantan...

Nasi Kerabu, yellow type, with normal toppings + grilled meat..
Nasi Kerabu, blue type, with normal toppings + "deep fried fish"
Nasi Berlauk Gulai Ayam
Nasi Berlauk Gulai "Ike Ayo" ( Tongkol / Bonito )
Kelantanese Nasi Dagang (bkn mcm T'ganu) + gulai "ike ayo"
..emm ok laar, even Nasi Lemak pun ada..
.. starts with the famous "Nasi Berlauk"(s)... Unlike ppl from other states, roti canai and nasi lemak and even mee,beehoon, nasi goreng alike are considered second class breakfast treats here in Kelantan. This Nasi Berlauk can be found almost everywhere in the state, from restaurants, coffee shops to roadsides stalls.... Honestly, due to its high calorie, I think this "Nasi Berlauk" is not a very healthy breakfast to a modern society like that of present day Malaysia, where ppl prefer to do indoor activities more than outdoor activities and obesity is a problem.....but when it comes to morning breakfast, I usually stick to this traditional Kelantanese treat !! Hey, at least, when it comes to breakfast in Kelantan, I still left with lots of different gastronomic choices !! ( Btw, my personal favorites are Nasi Kerabu & Nasi Berlauk/Nasi Dagang "Ike Ayo" , usually have two "bungkus" (wrapping; usually in paper) each breakfast )
